Bran's masterpiece, ‘Lone Star’ (2022), is a powerful tribute to the state of Texas. Crafted from an AK-47 and real butterflies, this sculpture art piece honours the deep layers of Texas' history—from the Native tribes and the abolishment of slavery to the bravery of African-American cowboys and the pioneering spirit of the Texas Rangers. It celebrates Texas' significant contributions, from the development of railroads to space exploration in Houston, and embodies the resilience of the people, past and present. The bullet fillings within the piece each hold symbolic meaning: oil for the Texas Oil Boom, dice for personal freedom and change, turquoise for Native American power and minerals, snakeskin for renewal and progress, the Bluebonnet for Texas' national flower, and blood as a solemn reminder of the state’s complex and sometimes painful history.
