Using the instantly recognizable, curved shape of an AK-47 magazine, Bran has painted it a vibrant yellow, complete with detailing that mimics the texture of a banana.

This piece is more than just a clever visual pun—it’s a commentary on the absurdity of the art market, the fleeting nature of viral sensations, and the ways in which media distractions can overshadow pressing global issues. The yellow-painted AK-47 magazine serves as a stark juxtaposition, representing the underlying realities of conflict, war, and genocide, while simultaneously mocking the frivolity of viral media stunts that dominate public attention.

This second edition of Banana Mag follows the first iteration, created in 2021, which sold immediately at HOFA Gallery. The new edition will be featured at Bran’s highly anticipated solo exhibition, Art to Disarm, held at HOFA Gallery in Mayfair.
